    Catherine Minniear, D.V.M.

    Owner/Veterinarian

    Dr. Minniear was born and raised in Fredericksburg. As an undergraduate she worked as an assistant at Fredericksburg Animal Hospital and joined our staff as an associate veterinarian in the summer of 2006. In August of 2026 , Dr. Minniear assumed full ownership of the practice.

    Dr. Minniear completed her undergraduate studies at Virginia Tech and received her Veterinary degree from St. Kitts with a clinical year at Texas A & M Veterinary College. She enjoys preventative care, internal medicine and general surgery.

    In her free time Dr. Minniear enjoys spending time with her family and pets, and supporting her children in their activities .

    Sheri Bakerian, V.M.D.

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Bakerian is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine (class of 1984). After graduation, Dr. Bakerian worked in private practice as well as on the racetrack for two years. Since then she has lived and worked in the Fredericksburg area. Her special interests are internal medicine, dermatology, geriatric medicine, preventative care, nutrition and behavior problems.

    In her off hours she enjoys spending time with her family, both two legged and four legged.  She also enjoys gardening, gourmet cooking, and reading.

    G. Frank Wagner, D.V.M.

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Wagner was born and raised in Northern Virginia. He attended Virginia Tech and finished his degree at the University of Georgia in 1971. After graduation, Dr. Wagner returned to Northern Virginia to work as an associate veterinarian before purchasing the Fredericksburg Animal Hospital in 1974. At that time he was one of only five veterinarians in the area.

    Fredericksburg Animal Hospital was owned and operated by Dr. Wagner from 1974-August of 2026. March 2024 marked his 50th year of owning the hospital. In August of 2026 he was pleased to hand over the reins to his associate and managing veterinarian, Dr. Catherine Minniear.

    Currently he remains on staff part time. Primarily performing surgery and seeing other cases by appointment only.
